Student Commitment

Parent Commitment

Dear Student and Parents/Guardians:

Sebastian River Middle School and Sebastian River High School are authorized IB World Schools. We are certified by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. The two schools form a partnership to offer a program of academic challenge in which students become global citizens of the world.

MYP is a five year program for students in 6th -10th grades. In our programme, the first three years are completed here at SRMS and the last two years at SRHS. Our programme includes eight subjects to be taken each year: Language Arts, Humanities, Science, Math, P.E., Technology, Art, and Spanish. Students in the MYP Programme take the most advanced Math offered each year and participate in Science Fair. The Programme also requires students to volunteer in the community or at school each year. SRMS also requires parents to volunteer in support of SRMS for 10 hours.

Qualified students residing in the SRMS attendance zone will be given priority. Students residing outside our attendance zone must seek and be granted a waiver to enroll in the program.

If you or your parents have any questions about the application process, please contact Mrs. Decker, Programme Coordinator, at 772-564-5202.

Sincerely,

Eileen Shirah,
Sebastian River Middle School Principal
